Entirely new post to show off my new icon. I'm also planning on making a stamp of In The Flesh to put on my profile since the two stamps I have now look kinda lonely.

I learned of In The Flesh last night through the scene in which Kieren's dad describes how he found his body. I immediately started watching. And god is it amazing. Spoilers for all of In The Flesh. It really connected with me on a deep level. Season one especially. Kieren and his family's experience with his suicide was relatable on a level I cannot even express. When Rick showed up and died again.. Kieren had to lose him a second time and that is so horrible.

When I started season two I already knew of the existence of Simon and that he would end up romantically involved with Kieren because I accidently spoilered myself when looking at the wiki to see if it was canon if Kieren and Rick were together. I didn't like Simon at first. I wasn't a fan of Amy at first either. Their devotion to the undead prophet was not great in my eyes.. And I felt like Kieren and Simon's romance kinda came out of nowhere? Like ok Amy's obsessed with him, he holds Kieren's hand once, and now we're kissing?? I warmed up to Simon in time though and by the time his backstory came around I was fully behind him. It's not as relatable to me as Kieren's, but what he went through was devastating. I'm glad he chose to stay with Kieren and his family in the end.

It's too bad there's no more. Cancelled or something. I'd love to see where the story kept going. I really loved Amy and Philip's relationship though I'm really sad about that. Philip really redeemed himself. I wish Kieren would've said something about Simon having that blue oblivion though. I thought he was gonna when they were sitting in the hospital waiting room before Philip came in with Amy.

Also isn't it a bit of a contradiction, the plot point of Kieren being the first risen? Earlier in season one when he was having flashbacks to being in the coffin, didn't he see himself digging up and being surrounded by people? Did they just make up that plot point for season two? Also who the fuck is the prophet anyway? He spoke to Simon and the other ones who were the first to be medicated, so is he not a zombie? Also I hate that most zombie's facial features change when they go rabid. Most notable with that school boy. Kieren's face didn't change at all.

And I did hate Simon in the beginning but god I think I'm starting to think he's hot now. I see there's 1200 ao3 fics so I'm gonna go get started on reading some of those.

A few things going on lately!

I sent out the next Vargas chapter to be beta'd so it's happening!! Depends on when I hear back from her and how long I decide to fret about it before I post it, haha. It always feels like such an event to me! It's nice to get the ball rolling on it though.

I went back and fixed the broken images in the giant sketchposts at least, although posts with individual images are still broken. I figured the giant posts would be the ones people would most likely be looking at, haha. Relive the memories! Or not! I can't tell you what to do!

In terms of my cool music page, I added two more cassettes I found! One called "Radio Picks 92" which really only has a handful of songs and, mysteriously, Silent Lucidity like four times in a row?? If it was me who recorded it I don't know what I was thinking. The other one is "Special tape for car only" which despite its name just has very normal music on it. BACK BEFORE MY TASTE IN MUSIC BECAME TERRIBLE BEYOND BELIEF
If I decide to do any more tapes maybe I should set up a second page, it seems long with just the four on it already! Or maybe my resolution is just too small.

On a related note, there is now also an ipod on that shelf! You can click it to get to a new page for my car playlist, which is like 1300+ songs long at current. No downloads or links for that one because christ but I have been working on a youtube mirror of the playlist, although I'm only like 900 songs through it. You can get a taste of it though!

Setting up the ipod to flip open on hover was really annoying, I ended up trying like a few different methods and running into weird roadblocks before I got it doing what I wanted. Tough to get it to stay in place too! Getting a good shot of the ipod itself I could use was also annoying, I went through like three different versions of it open/closed before I decided on this one. It looks so realistic on the shelf!

I also made some Teeny Tower rooms!

One for Horses because that's so inappropriate lol. I need to make a post about that at some point. I love how the little horses came out, cute and creepy at the same time, poor things. Had a hard time thinking of a background but then I figured I could work with the whole silent film/theater symbolism it has going through it.

BRAINLESS RAAANDYYYYY there is SO MUCH fog in the Illbleed cutscenes I swear

Hornet and Shakra are girlfriiieeenddsss god, everything in Hollow Knight/Silksong is so ornate and intricate, it was murder to try and get it all down into such a small space. I based it off of my bellhome in Silksong so I have all the relics in there and everything, haha. Very hard to get a sense of metallic surfaces on a small scale!

Something reminded me or made me think of how a lot of Undertale environments would make for good little rooms, so I went with Asgore's throne room first. He looks so cute!! Cutest tiny Asgore! The window was a pain to try and shrink down. It's interesting seeing this one set against all the others since it has dark outlines, which very few of my other rooms have. Really emphasizes how simplistic Undertale's art style is...

And the brothers' room! Well really it's all about the Mettaton TV, haha. Mettaton on every channel! He's gotta be doing something! I spent way too much time on all those little segments. I could still add one for the news if I felt ambitious...

And as a complete tonal shift, that one scene from Hereditary. If you've seen it you know! I wonder how recognizable it will be to people when it's so tiny? It was a lot of fun to recreate this, trying to balance the right amount of darkness in the doorway so you're not sure if you see something.

Wow a couple days longer than I thought have passed. I am still watching KCD2. This opening might be a little stiff because I'm one hand typing because I'm eating cheesy popcorn with my left hand and I lose a lot of personality when I can't type as fast. Really good popcorn though.

I started watching New Girl. I'm most of the way through season one now. Man, I love Schmidt. And man, I cannot remember how to spell his name ever. I love the short version of the intro that cuts him off at the end lol. Ok I have both my hands back now. I love Nick too. And I can't believe Casey from Party Down was in New Girl! The reason I started watching it was because I rewatched the towel scene of Schmidt and Nick and saw Casey. Man, actors be acting..

I got some orange soda today. It was $3 for a 12 pack. I'll let you know how it tastes later. I'm not much a fan of cola. Coke, pepsi, dr pepper all suck to me. And is there any other soda flavor than cola or citrus? I guess grape? Who's out here regularly buying grape soda though? I can occasionally enjoy a Coke though when it's the only thing people have. Trying not to seem weird standing around in some office holding a coke and only kind of drinking it.. Fun times.

I really need to buy more long sleeve shirts. My closet is mostly short sleeves because nobody wants to sell merch on a long sleeve. I've been wearing that Nny shirt I got so much. Well I don't really have to worry about that until I move out of Texas. Somewhere North, here I come!

Are you there?

So, Ego Renegade Boy by [youtube.com profile] flavorfoley.
When I was first listening to it, I kept getting caught off-guard by a specific noise, one that's eerily like that of the FFXIV duty pop sound. I thought it was coincidence, and didn't really consider it further. Then today, a friend shared this Tumblr post by [tumblr.com profile] cryoriku of this Bluesky post by yuri.mom and this YouTube comment by [youtube.com profile] kristhemoth8799. The Bluesky post reads, "the hot new transmasc vocaloid murder anthem featuring kagamine len himself samples zenos yae galvus from final fantasy fourteen saying "the power to transcend" at 1:14". The YouTube comment reads, "1:13 a test of your reflexes", which is a reference to a different voiceline of Zenos yae Galvus. This reminded me that in the descriptions of other FLAVOR FOLEY songs (like rawdog ft. HAYDEN, 18+ recommended), Jaime Paige — one of the members of FLAVOR FOLEY — mentions being a FFXIV player, so it's very likely that they did in fact use the duty pop sound in the song and I'm NOT losing my marbles LOL

Anyway, other than that, turns out Lesti (one of my more recent online friends) kinda did/does have a crush on me.
I don't have a particular feeling about it overall, which is actually an improvement over the last time someone openly liked me! And I like to say this is also proof that I have game with girls, finally :cheer: She knows that I don't like her back, and doesn't seem too bothered, thankfully. On that topic, I again considered confessing to my crush just to get it over with but, unlike the last time I thought about it, the idea made me panic enough that my chest hurt. Sigh. Well, I don't think we could be right for each other at the moment anyway, so there's not really a reason to say anything yet.

I didn't go to uni today because I had poor sleep, a nightmare, and also swallowed my pills wrong in a way I've never done before, which put me on the edge of bursting into tears. Also today's work could all be done online so it wasn't really a big deal.

About the nightmare...
Keeping it brief, but essentially I dreamt that I had a life-threatening infection and the hospital couldn't/didn't help me. When I tried to explain to GuiGui my condition after being forced to go to uni like nothing was wrong, I forgot the words so badly that the dream morphed into me battling monsters that represented my inability to recall words. How fun.

I got a little USB Cassette converter to digitize some of my old tapes! As such I went and digitized the two tapes I could find, Randomousity 5 and 8. I had a whole series but these are the only ones on hand! I'm not sure many I made of them. :O The rips are pretty good quality, it's mostly the tapes themselves that have gotten damaged over the years. Sometimes the audio gets kind of rough or fades in and out, but mostly it's pretty clear! It always gets rough when each side stops and starts. But maybe some of you are into that kind of thing. |D

As such, they're on the site now! I added a third shelf for them on the index since they needed the space. :B They lead to the same page though. Notably for the spine/cases, I took some photos of my actual tapes! Well, one tape and one case, the others were all in pretty bad shape or had a bunch of drawings or track listings on them.

Case in point )

They look a bit more realistic as a result than the others but still. |D I think they're neat. I figured a horizontal pile would be a fun contrast to the vertical CDs. You can download the tapes on the site itself! Should I link to them in this entry too...? Well, I can do the tracklisting anyway, haha. A lot of these songs show up in later CDs, I've had them for a long time.

Randomousity 5 went...

SIDE A
The Cynic Project - Matrix ]|[
Bamble B - Crime of Passion (Main Mix)
Bjork - I've Seen It All
Rhexx - Yellowstone
Massive Attack - Everywhen
Ben Folds - The Ascent of Stan
Blind Melon - No Rain
System of a Down - The Metro
Nine Inch Nails - The Perfect Drug
Kittie - Brackish
Cirque du Soleil - Jeux d'enfants
--
SIDE B
Cirque du Soleil - Jeux d'enfants
Zilch - Into Heaven
Hiro feat. Sweet Little 30's - Heaven is a '57 Metallic Gray (GimMIX)
Final Offset - Twin Bee -Generation X-
Mr. T - xenon
tiger YAMATO - r3
Becky and Pokemon Kids - Soratobu Pokemon Kids
Ben Folds - Carrying Cathy
Ben Folds - Zak and Sara
VA - Always (DJ Tatana remix)
The Swan Princess - This Is My Idea
Matt Wilson - Real Folked Up (Cowboy Bebop Remix)
Within Temptation - Mother Earth
Heino - Die Schwarze Barbara

This tape was odd since it started on a down note and then went up, which was the opposite of how I usually did it.

Randomousity 8 went...

SIDE A
Dr. Reanimator - Move Your Dead Bones
Haiducii vs O-Zone & Gabry Ponte - Dragostea Din Tei RMX
Gigi D'Agostino - The Riddle
Ministry of Sound - Deepest Blue - Deepest Blue
J.B.O. - Hey, Pippi Langstrumpf
Dance Nation - Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas
Sonny and Cher - Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves
The Pirates of Penzance - I am the Very Model of a Modern Major General
Tom Lehrer - The Elements Song
Randy Newman - I Love L.A.
The Magnetic Fields - All My Little Words
The Magnetic Fields - I Wish I Had an Evil TWin
The 6ths - Dead Only Quickly
The 6ths - San Diego Zoo
--
SIDE B
The 6ths - San Diego Zoo
The 6ths - Give Me Back My Dreams
Ryan Cabrera - On The Way Down
The Exies - Ugly
Yoko Kanno - Butterfly
Conjure One - Center of the Sun
Vast - My TV and You
explode 16 - thunderstorm
Lord of the Rings - Into the West
Spacekats - Land of the Rising Sun
Spacekats - Mellow
Crispy - Bubble Dancer
Crispy - The Game
Crush - Jellyhead

The label on the tape was so damaged I could barely read it! The tape itself played fine, mostly, although it definitely has some rough bits. I remember listening to this a lot while writing Vargas back in the day, and of course I was visualizing Move Your Dead Bones to it, hehe. This might have been one of the last ones I ever made, it's hard to remember now. I found tapes for the DDR 5th and 6th megamixes, but you could probably find those anywhere in much better quality so I didn't transfer them.
(zaaaarrr you can find all these tracks anywhere in much better quality, why did you do thiiissSs)

It was satisfying to handle the tape transferrer, it feels just like an old Walkman. Very nostalgic to flip it open, slide a tape in, click the thick buttons, hear it whirring in there. I used my Walkman so much back in the day! It was more durable than a Discman and tapes didn't skip if you banged them around, haha. I used it way after everyone had switched over to Discmans, which was foreshadowing for how I keep using things way after everyone else has left. STILL POSTING HERE AND UPDATING MY PERSONAL SITE, AFTER ALL THIS TIME

Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is so much better than I ever thought it could be when I started watching this playthrough. Just got to the "For Whom the Bell Tolls" quest (amazing title) and omg. Not what I was expecting. Can make you feel so much emotion for some guy who was an asshole most of the game lol. I'm not gonna say anything too spoiler-y, but just wow. Can't wait to see this quest play out and how Henry deals with it. I really love the premise of it. And I can't wait to see Henry and Hans's relationship more because they've been seperated for so long, but they work together so well!! The prologue was amazing and even when Hans is being an ass he stands up for Henry at the wedding and just.. God I'm so gay.

And Luke Dale just got to this mission at the kind of start of his 24 hour stream (I don't know if it was actually 24 hours since youtube video is split into two 12 hour videos) and I'm so excited to watch more. There's been some of his videos where I skipped through most of it and felt like I only watched 20 minutes, but this one I just can't stop watching. Godwin, Hans is back, this new story, actually being on the main storyline and not off doing everything else. I'm going to watch this thing straight through I swear to god. I wonder how many Mello Yellos I'll have to drink to stay up. God my caffeine tolerance is insane since I chugged a monster everyday for 3 years. It's not even an upper to me anymore it's just how I don't pass out at any moment. Seriously if I don't have caffeine I'll take naps all the time. I need to get into coffee..

I've been watching Luke Dale's streams of KCD2, and it's really interesting. I've not played many games like it before. I love RDR. Lost interest in RDR2 before I left the camp. Don't enjoy GTA except for driving around and crashing. And I bought Assassin's Creed about 4 months ago to get more experience playing RPGs and played it for a month before I got side tracked. It's really fun seeing one of the actors for the game play it and seeing his face next to Hans is really weird because they actually do look alike! I sure do wish he would stop pausing the game to read out donations every 30 seconds and stay paused for 3 minutes everytime, but this is what you gotta deal with sometimes. Can't wait for when there's more Hans and the courting starts though. I still have 37 more vidoes to get through. I can do it!

Another game I loved is Stray. It's not really an RPG in terms of gameplay I think?, but it is by definition because you play as a cat. It's really fun to jump around and the visuals are beautiful. It's an easy play if you don't mind your heart rate spiking while getting chased by a hoard of bugs, but they're not difficult to evade. It's a really fun and beautiful game. I recommend it if you haven't played it before.

And I'm aware a couple of these games are much more recently developed than I would usually talk about, but I don't play many games period so I gotta pick my battles. At least I have Assassin's Creed and RDR. I've been looking into play Conker's Bad Fur Day because I've heard it's on Rare Replay and I have that soo maybe you'll see something about that in the next year?

FINALLY MADE A SONG PAGE ON MY SITE

I've had a mental image of what I wanted to do for a while but I just wasn't sure where to start on it. It just seemed like it'd be so complicated! What did I want it to look like exactly, all these fiddly details... finally I just decided to get in there with a general wood pattern (like my desk) and just try and figure something out. Once the ball got rolling the rest started coming along! It took me a long time to finish though. I think it really looks cool, haha.

I went through my LJ looking for posts I made about CDs here and there to copy em over, so now I've got back-up copies in case something happens! Always a good idea, especially with ones like the Lady or Vargas FSTs that got absurdly long write-ups. In the process of looking around I found out I'd written up posts for some VGmix CDs and DoD ones that I had no memory of. I didn't have any convenient cover art made for them, so instead I just decided to go the simple route and set up a blank CD-R in a case and then wrote the name on it using a ClipStudio pen, haha. It looks surprisingly realistic! It's like I took a picture of the CD! I ended up putting the other covers in the cd case with some weathering/age effects too so they'd all match. You can see the clean versions of the covers on their own individual pages.

A tricky thing is that for a while I was posting individual songs from 100 song chunks from my main Winamp playlist where all my music has gone for decades now (currently at 41119 songs). There are a lot of them but I don't know how I'd convey that on the shelf! I have a big ipod playlist for my car as well, and I GUESS I could put an ipod on the shelf but I don't know...

In the meantime, I got curious about whether or not there are USB converters for cassette tapes and there are! I ordered one and we'll see if it works. Maybe I can dig up some REALLY old mixtapes for you lol. I mean, assuming anyone downloads or listens to any of these... if nothing else it's nice to have them in an easy place where I can get them if I need them.

Yesterday and today, I grinded FATES in Eureka Pyros (third area of the Stormblood field op) with Honguito. When we first started Eureka like a year ago, I shot straight to EL57 because I was obsessed, even though Honguito stopped at the late 30s due to hand-pain and lack of motivation. Then neither of us touched it for at least several months until Del got into it for a day or two. That got me to EL58, then we didn't touch it again until yesterday. Eureka is this blend of boring and "teehee haha logograms :D". Honestly, I like a certain level of grinding; repetitive stuff is a bit soothing, especially if it's social or novel in the context of the larger game.

I should probably engage in more "thank you for the FATE pop" etiquette because I find it very pleasant to be on the receiving end of, but I've been forgetting to these two days because we've been doing 90% of the pops in our instances. That was like... 12 hours of FATE grinding, phew. Now I'm EL60! After dying once during today's grind XD

Most of my time in Eureka 'solo' was spent levelling while I let others work on popping FATES (ones that I didn't always benefit from due to said lack of EXP), so I had a lot more Fundamental Mnemes from kill chains than any other type. Now I have a similar number of Conceptual Mnemes, but not much of anything else. At least common Logograms aren't like, bad by any means, they can still make very useful Logos Actions. (Logogram = raw general material, Mneme = refined and specific material, Logos Action = ability created from refined material)

Walked around all day. Hurts, worth it. Retail therapy, or whatever they say… bought myself a necklace, scored a couple of CDs. I've been hunting for a copy of Infinity on High in person, didn't think it would be so tough to find, found one today. Didn't get anything I actually needed... e.g. new pair of jeans, since the only pair i actually like is on the way out. Wish me luck. Still. Feeling? Good.

Also. Caught a totally killer show. I was a little nervous but man am I glad i ended up going. Crowd was sparse to start, but things picked up. Exactly what I was hoping for. New band 2 listen to. Just a great sound great time.

Also also. All this FUCT demo stuff is pretty exciting.

Not much of an entry. Sorry. Love.

... because of a few reasons. Most importantly, I always feel like I'm gonna make something they don't like — even if the recipe is something I know they love because I made it (in a joint effort with someone else) for them before! I just can't help thinking at least a few tiny thoughts that I will magically be doing things wrong or differently. Unfortunately, this has the consequence of occasionally overthinking something and just not doing a step that I knew in the moment I should've done.

Less important but still big: I'm, well, not the best at keeping track of large quantities of ingredients (it's unlikely I'm making something in a singular portion unless it's my own food); sometimes that means I overcook stuff, other times that means I just... totally forget to use those ingredients (my mother is much the same, but we sorta fill in the gaps when we work together).

Mental health talk under cut )

This whole week passed by so quickly. I've been distracted and barely been able to focus on anything because one of my former hockey teammates died. Fly high, bro. It threw me off my rhythm so bad I forgot to eat for a day and haven't been able to work out. Sticks out..

I really need to fix up my room. There's a lot of stuff on the floor because I filled up my only bookshelf last year. And I have no mirror, so no fit checks. I got a small table a while ago to get stuff off the floor but now there's stuff on the floor under the table. And my closet is weird because I kinda have nowhere to put my pants so they stay at the foot of my bed. I have hangers for all shirts and hoodies and I use the top shelf as storage for extra hangers and hats. And I have a dresser in there, but only use one drawer because I keep it open all the time and it'd be hard to use multiple at the same time. The other 2 drawers are filled with clothes I don't touch but don't want to give away and comic books. And the top of the dresser is used for my wallet, deoderant, and a keyboard that doesn't have anywhere else to go.
And all my art supplies from 8 years ago is probably dried up. And I don't touch it. Who even uses acrylic paint anyway... And what're you supposed to do with half painted canvases?

I'm supposed to deep clean the bathroom I share with one of my roommates because another one of my roommates is having her sister visit soon. How do you clean a bathtub? And how do you stop people from using your sink? Our bathroom has a long counter with 2 sinks, one closer to the door one closer to the toilet. And everyone visiting /always/ uses mine, the one closer to the toilet. We once had a team of workers come over to fix our HVAC system for like 2 days and my sink was so disgusting and clogged with whatever was on their hands, and my roommate's was perfectly clean. I'm thinking of just putting a note on the mirror in front of it saying not to use it. Walk 3 feet further to the other sink, I promise it's possible and you'll thank me when you don't drip water across the entire length of the bathroom floor because the towel is by the other sink.
