I HAVE FINISHED MATTHIAS'S CHARACTER SHEET!!!!!!!!!!!
i actually hated how it turned out and took and angry nap and tweaked it slightly and now im just a bit less angry, but i will probably never be satisfied :( BUT ITS OKAY IVE ACCEPTED IT

a lot of goofy things happened that helped me build on matthias's characterization :3 it is now canon that matthias is in desperate need of glasses.
as was said last time, i have a very bad habit of not paying attention in battles, and this has gotten so bad and led to so many infuriating but extremely entertaining battles that gin gave me the idea to canonize matthias's needing glasses arc.
also. 100% canon cishet matthias.

well.
they dont actually know what they are but MATTHIAS IS DECIDEDLY VERY IMPORTANT TO ASTARION IN A SIGNIFICANT WAY SO ITS MAJOR PROGRESS!!!
this development coming in reaction to this insane interaction
imagine making astarion so uncomfortable he gets into a relationship with another person because of it
SHE SIMPLY JUST. COULD NOT FATHOM THE IDEA OF ASTARION HAVING HIS OWN WILL AND AGENCY AND FEELINGS.
i've also become a savescummer, but mostly only to avoid upsetting astarion. my rsd trickles into mattias having rsd unfortunately.
while pretty ooc for matthias, i really wasnt looking forward to the fight with yugir even tho i usually love battles, so i justified him going the route of getting yugir to kill all his allies and himself by having matthias be like. well i guess we were going to kill them anyways. this is just easier. and its for astarion. (HE REALLY DOES NOT LIKE DOING STUFF LIKE THIS THOUGH, HE PREFERS TO FIGHT CREATURES HIMSELF BECAUSE MANIPULATING THEM INTO KILLING EACH OTHER/THEMSELVES FEELS EXTREMELY BRUTUAL/INHUMANE)
(or maybe astarion is making him slowly go through a villain arc who knows :3)
THING IS THOUGH, WHEN MATTHIAS TRIED TO BARTER SLASH ENCOURAGE MASS SUICIDE, ASTARION INTERRUPTED ANGRILY AND DISAPPROVED, AND IT UPSET ME SO MUCH I KEPT TRYING TO REDO THE CONVERSATION UNTIL I REALIZED IT WAS INEVITABLE AND THEN IT WOULD ESSENTIALLY UNDO ITSELF BY THE END WHEN HE HEAVILY APPROVES.
its funny to imagine matthias like. very confidently trying to stand up to yugir and manipulate him, astarion interrupts for just a second, and matthias immediately crumbles to the floor and sobs.
"I’ve had dealings with that devil, lets help each other”
“What are you doing-“
"AOUGHHHHHHH”
i reallyyyyyy wanted him to say this specific line but apparently it only triggers when you dont have the deal with raphael so he said "did that count? gods i hope that counts" THE OTHER LINE WOULDVE BEEN SO CUTE THOUGH, ESP CONSIDERING THE FACT THAT HE CONSIDERS AND CALLED MATTHIAS EXTREMELY NAIVE
also it would probably ease the guilt matthias was going through
rn currently i just got through the self-same trial and it was so much fun :333 lots of silly ideas to draw
especially with the fact that for some reason astarion's reflection would just. consistently only target matthias. and i had to redo the fight multiple times.
astarion having to watch his reflection kill his lover or matthias having to attack a reflection of his boyfriend, potentially feeling too guilty to put his all into his attacks? WHICH ONE IS MORE ANGSTY, YOU DECIDE <3
ANOTHER THING I LOVED. EVERYONE HAS COMPLETE EXACT MIRROR REFLECTIONS AND MATTHIAS GETS.

everyone is like horrified but also amazed at seeing these mirror reflection versions of themselves and matthias is like :D cool where is mine. is. is that one mine. why does he. look like that.
I ACTUALLY AM SUPER SURPRISED THEY DIDNT MAKE IT A POINT TO ACKNOWLEDGE THE FACT THAT THIS TECHNICALLY RESULTS IN ASTARION SEEING HIMSELF FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HE BECAME A VAMPIRE? IM GENUINELY DEVASTATED D:

Date: 2024-02-17 11:10 am (UTC)yeah there are moments like that where astarion can technically see himself, and you'd expect a comment, but then nothing happens :0 maybe they'll address that in the future but at the same time, him not seeing his reflection is a big deal to him!!
your dream visitor is super cute as well, i love how they look omg! they look a lot like a video game character i play, from the hair to also the outfit kinda :'D it just reminded me of her
